If you are heading for the Costa del Sol this year, and are staying at Fuengirola, Mijas, Benalmadena or Torremolinos, you will probably be working out a list of attractions that you can visit during your stay. Well you have chosen a good spot, as there is plenty to see and do in the Fuengirola area, whatever your tastes. For history and culture you can head for the old Moorish castle, originally built in the 10th century, but mostly rebuilt during the 18th century. If you have kids, you may prefer to pop along to the Mijas Aquatic Park in nearby Mijas, where there are plenty of rides, slides, and water fun to keep them amused for hours, while you relax in the sunny Fuengirola weather. Fair and amusement lovers can head for the Tivoli World Amusement Park, with carousels, scary rides and lots a thrills and spills. Lastly you could visit the zoo, a great opportunity to see some wild animals. The Costa del Sol region, of course, has much more to offer than just these few attractions, but this will just give you a taste of what can be found in the area around Fuengirola.
