Buckinghamshire Attractions and Events - Weston Turville Church: One of the main attractions for many in the village of Weston Turville, Buckinghamshire, is its historic church, a religious symbol of the village for many centuries. The parish Church of St Mary, dates mostly from the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, though the roof and tower was constructed in the fifteenth century, you can see a picture of the church on the left. Other nearby places with interesting churches include Aylesbury, with its ancient St Mary’s church, surrounded by what’s left of old Aylesbury. In the village of Aston Clinton you will find the parish church of St Michael and All Angels, also close by in Stoke Mandeville you will find a church that was constructed by a builder from Weston Turville, this is called the church of St Mary the Virgin, Mary seemingly being a popular name for churches in this area! And finally we shall head to Wendover, where the parish church is also dedicated to St Mary the Virgin, making four St Mary’s out of five churches. Thus ends our brief tour around the churches of Weston Turville and its Buckinghamshire environs.

While most are in agreement that the youngsters in the area need ways to entertain themselves, there are worries of anti-social behaviour, and also the spoiling of a pretty area. Most of the local youngsters are of course in agreement with the scheme, whilst the adults who often have to deal with the results and clear up the mess afterwards, are not so keen. So all in Gerrards Cross are waiting to see if the idea comes to fruition.
